Finding MLM prospects via AOL chatting

Is it possible to find prospects for your network marketing by chatting?

Max Steingart one of the mlm trainers recommends using AOL chatting to find prospects.
He actually offers a free seminar to sell his book and CDs about this topic.
You actually get all the information in his free seminar, he repeats himself in the book and his Cds.

Basically, he recommends people to get an AOL account (yeah, I know, who wants to get in their hands).

Then create a nice profile for yourself. Name yourself something interesting or that triggers curiosity, he recommends names such as thesuccessmentor, the wealthmentor, thehealthmentor….

Then you fill your profile with something interesting, your hobbies, etc…

AOL allows you to access their member’s database and you have the ability to find people depending on your search criteria.

You actually able to search for example people in your area, and you check their profile.

If you find someone with a nice profile that you may think as a good prospect or as a great person just to talk to and build a relationship with, then you send them an instant message.

Your instant message may say just: Hi
And you wait to see if the other person after checking your profile is interested in chatting at all.

He obviously recommends that you try to create some type of relationship with this person.

When they ask you what do you do, then you say your pitch such as ” I teach people who to make extra income from home”, ” I am a health coach, I teach people how to gain back their energy with natural supplements”….

If this person reacts positively or with curiosity, then you continue your pitch, and you try to keep in touch with them in the future when they get online.

He obviously recommends that you get them on the phone if they show any serious interest, get them out of cyberspace to the real world.

I am personally not a big fan of AOL because if you want to disconnect their service, they make your life miserable.

You may also go to monster.com and try to network over there. In monster you have the ability to search profiles, and those guys are looking for a change and for better future.

These are cheap ways to try to get local or even long distance prospects.
