One of the classic easy lead generation technique that Big Al recommends is simply ask a question. For an example:
When you hear anyone complaining about their health and you sell nutritional products that may help this person, you can simply ask: “Would you like to do something about it?”
If the answer is yes, you have a prospect.
If the answer is no. Just stop, this is not a prospect.
Another question you might want to ask is “What are your two major health concerns?”
If they complain about their health, then you ask: “Would you like to do something about it?”
You can break the ice really easily, this a rejection-free prospecting.

Today I visited one of my friends, I asked how she is doing? She complained about backache, she said her doctor said she needs to lose weight first. I told her how I solved my weight problem with Herbalife. And she took my new number and e-mail adress.
If people are not complaining or not inclined to do something about their problem, you are right we should stop talking about the product, may be they will be ready one day.
