In today’s MLM training, I would like to share with you one of the MLM secrets that you must understand in your network marketing business.

You should follow your personality type doing the business and not change your personality.

Let me explain. I did talk to two people this evening.

Both ladies are ‘blues’: that means they like to have fun, they are open and direct.

One of them is very successful in her business and sponsoring people everyday.
The other is struggling big time and getting depressed!

The successful lady is in a travel business and she is having fun doing the business! No wonder she is able to sponsor people. She will never stop working in her MLM and she will never quit!

The other lady is struggling big time and why?

Because her upline and her network marketing company ‘leaders’ told her to chase her friends, family and cold call her neighbors.

What is she getting? Rejection and Pain!!

If you are following my posts I have discussed with you that #1 lesson you must teach your distributors is: Rejection Free Prospecting!

If your distributors are having fun and they are not stressed out, they will stay with you for hundred years even if they don’t make money!

Forget this piece of the puzzle; your distributors will get plenty of pains and rejection. No wonder they quit. Your distributors will never want to talk to anyone anymore, they are going to hide in the closet; their self esteem is in the mud. Then they will tell you that MLM is just a scam!

MLM Secrets - Have you heard about the internet?

In today mlm training I would like to teach you about a mlm secrets called the Internet!

The best lead generation tool ever created is the Internet. It will allow you to target your market. It opens up the whole world for you 24/7. If you are not using the Internet for your lead generation effort today then it is as if you are still fighting with a sword.

Anyway, one of the major questions I get is: How to drive traffic to my website?

I have plenty of tips in the post archives

I will remind you about the basics: (Look for the details in the post archives)

1) Make sure you send your visitors to a website (lead capture page) where they can receive something free. This way you will have to chance to contact them by phone or follow-up with them automatically through an auto responder.

For example, when you visit my blog here I offer you a free e-book MLM Success in 10 Steps for this reason

2) There are two major ways of getting visitors to your website: Paid and Free.

It is going to cost you either money or time!

You have to judge which one do you have more?

What are the FREE ways of getting visitors to your website or lead capture pages?

-Forums: by visiting forums and getting involved in discussions, you are allowed to have your signature file. If you help other people and provide information then they want to know about you and they will visit your website.

-Visiting blogs and commenting on them: For example, if you comment on my blog you are allowed to have a link to your website and you can get some of my website visitors to check your website. You can visit multiple blogs easily and comment on the posts.

Go to blogsearch.google.com or to any other blog search engine and you will find plenty of blogs about your particular interest.

If you are commenting on my blog, you better have a nice comment

-Article writing: You can write articles about your product or your opportunity and post it in the article directories and send it to ezine publishers.

-Get a blog like this one and start writing your ideas about the products of your network marketing company or your opportunity. You can have one for free if you are short on money; there are plenty of places to make your free blog. Check www.blogger.com and www.wordpress.com

-Traffic exchanges such as traffic swarm and instant buzz: this will allow you to click on other people’s advertisements and you get credits and other people will see your advertisements.
Beware of all the spy wares though. Time wasting

All these methods will cost you time.

What are the paid ways of getting traffic and visitors to your mlm company or better yet to your lead capture page ?

Whenever you want to pay for advertisement, you have to do some math (sorry).

You have to have a budget. For example: you are paying $30 for one type of advertisement and you get 10 leads but no one signs up, then you never want repeat this process again. But if you pay $30 for another type of advertisement and you get 3 highly motivated leads, and one signs up then you made more than $30. This you repeat again and again.

That’s what you call Return on Investment. Repeat what’s makes you money and stop what’s waste your money. (Make sense but most people waste their money on repeating advertisements that do not work!)

That’s called testing in marketing: sometimes you have to waste money till you find the best formula for you. Expect it to happen and if you can not live with this idea then use the free ways till you make some money that you can use for testing.

-Paid per click programs such as Google adwords, overture and other minor ones.
Paid per click advertisements are those advertisements on your right side that you see in search engines under the ’sponsored links’. Paid per click will allow you to bid on ‘keywords’ and the one who bids higher, will gets their ad placed first on the search engines ads. This method will get you immediate traffic but may waste your money! Check Perry Marshall 5 free email lessons before you get into pay per click deals.

- Newsletters advertisements: You can find ezine or newsletters about your topic of interest and you can place an ad. You can use top sponsor ad or a solo ad. Before you pay any ad for any ezine, subscribe to it so you appreciate the quality and the type of people who are reading it. Again you test and evaluate!

-Press releases: You can make a press release about your products or your opportunity. There are free press releases but I found them ineffective personally. When you pay something like $80, you can get significant exposure. One of the major press releases websites is www.prweb.com

What do I use personally right now?

I use a blog and article writing. This is how you arrived here
I have used forums, blog commenting and traffic exchanges but it wasted too much of my time.

I hope these would help you generate your leads.
Get a lead capture page if your mlm company website sucks, most of them do, including my own network marketing company, lol.

MLM secrets : How to recruit other network marketers including me?

I wrote this post because I have had people try to recruit me. Some of the ways have been funny.

Is it a good idea to recruit other network marketers?

Of course! Think about it, fellow network marketers will never tell you Network Marketing is a scam! They already have the dream and the desire for time and financial freedom. They have already been sold on the concept of residual income.

Is it ethical to recruit other network marketers?

Yes, it is. You are never sponsoring anyone against his will. You are not stealing them, they decide to join you.

Let me tell you first about the wrong way of recruiting other network marketers:

Yesterday:

One guy submited a question from: Ask me link on this website and told me: “I am a top distributor in one of the biggest wellness companies on the planet. I want to discuss the opportunity with you. Please call or email me at your earliest convenience. ”

Wow! I am impressed with this smart tactic! I am going to jump in into his noni mlm company deal today!

Even if I was looking for a network marketing company to join,

1) This approach is very bold and despicable to me.
2) Why would I join a company with a horrible product! I heard some people saying: they will never put noni juice in their mouth even if it will cure their cancers! I am not drinking this stuff myself, lol. I am far from being a sadomasochist.

Do not do this! It doesn’t work.

The day before yesterday:

I was talking to a guy and he tells me: “I found a good deal, I think you will be interested!”

This guy changes his deals as often as he changes his clothes.

That’s what you call “mlm junkie”: a person who jumps from a deal to another. He joins every deal he hears about and never goes anywhere with any of them. This is the typical loser profile that keeps joining every pre-launch new hot mlm company (Oh, I am getting early this time)

So, what is the appropriate way to recruit other network marketers?

If you have read the MLM Success e-book, you should understand that people join people they know, like and trust!

You become their friends and when timing is right, they will join you or you join them!

This is one of the mlm secrets that ‘the heavy hitters’ never tell you.

Heavy hitters will ask you to chase your friends and family but the reality is: they have been in multiple network marketing companies and they know many leaders in the MLM industry already.

When heavy hitters joined a new company they recruited those leaders because they have known them for long time and the timing was right for them!

Professional network marketers never go into the stupid argument: My company is better than yours. Professionals talk professionally, they learn from each others.

Only network marketers newbies and junkies argue which company is better.

Using this tactic is very effective but it may be slow. Be patient.

MLM and network marketing is a business that grows a little bit at a time. Network marketing is not a magic bullet!

MLM tips - What is your signature file ?

One of the mlm tips I would like to share with you is the misuse of signature file.

What is a signature file?

A signature file are a couple of words below your name usually in an email or other document.

For example below are two different signature files:

My url informs people about the content of my website.

What is your signature file?

It should be sort-of-like a small ad or a small pitch.

Signature file can be used to pitch anyone on your network marketing company rejection-free.

Two Most Common Signature File Mistakes

Mistake #1: Having a url of a website that means nothing!
Mistake #2: Having a url that takes visitors to a company website without any way to capture their information!

If you can not capture the attention of folks that visit your website so that they will give you at least their name and email, you can not get in touch with them. They may never come back to visit your website.

Your website should never be your company website but a lead capture page or a website with popup similar to my blog.

Network marketing business the right way

How to market your network marketing business the right way so that you make money instead of losing money.

1) Remember it is ‘network’ marketing. This means it starts with networking. You may start with your friends and family, if you have some left:) You can prospect through them and you can get referrals and some sales. If you have a great product that people want, it should not be difficult to get referrals. Getting referrals is often called prospecting through.

Prospecting through is simply asking your friends if they know someone who is interested in your product and then give them a killer brochure. It is rejection-free and effective.

Then there is the doorway theory: The doorway theory implies that every person is the door for hundreds of people.

Which one is better?

You can ask them to buy and possible get rejected or prospect through and get access to their friends and family. Your friends like you and want to help you.

Another trick that Dave Cones shared with us last Saturday: Ask for their opinion. Ask your warm market: What do they think about your (killer) brochure? Tell them you are doing marketing research. This approach is rejection-free – Every one likes giving their opinion.

Then, after you get some happy customers on your great products, you ask for referrals. Hopefully with your great products, those referrals become customers and a great source of referrals for you…

If you find that no one will buy your products then find a real mlm business.

If you have been in many network marketing companies before and you find that your friends and family are scared of you and they run to hide as soon as they see you, then you just have to change your approach by asking their help for referrals for the products. Do not mention your opportunity or the business aspect.

2) After you start making some money, you can use this money (not your own money) to start advertising your products or your service. You may want to test post card marketing, test internet marketing through ezine advertisements, test Google adwords, and even host your own website . . .

Initially, the money that you make is not your money to spent at will. Instead it is the food for your baby (your business)! Teach your team this principle.

3) When you start earning significant amount of money, keep some in your savings account and you may want to invest in real estate, in bonds . . .

Some network marketers are making lots of money. The next day their company disappears from the face of the earth or their company decides to terminate them or their company decides to cancel the compensation plan! If these guys are buying fancy cars and big houses, then the next day they get no checks. They are suddenly in debt.

But if these guys use their money wisely, they will survive and may not even get affected.

Network marketing mistakes that you should avoid

I would like to talk about network marketing mistakes today.

I recently received a question: How to stop losing money in network marketing?

I will talk about the wrong ways of marketing that waste money then afterwards I will discuss how to make your marketing work so it makes you money.

Most people join network marketing companies to make money and to get rich.

The fact is: Many people lose money!

How do they lose money?

They may have listened to their upline!

Let me explain, initially, two years ago when Bill started in network marketing, he was working with a company where no one had any clue about marketing. All that they taught him was to make a list of his friends and family! He did that and asked his upline what to do next. They told him to start mailing packages about the company! He did not like their idea, but he was supposed to be teachable and he decided to listen… Bill mailed about $800 worth of these packages and never heard from a single soul!

This does not mean direct mailing is a bad idea. However mailings with a horrible letter for non-targeted list is just plain dumb-stupid. Never listen to your upline if you experience horrible results!

Direct mail requires a letter with great copywriting skills to a targeted mailing list. It costs money for testing the list and you have to be prepared for money loss.

Lesson #1: Do not use direct mail initially in your campaign.

I will discuss in the future how to undergo successful mailing campaign without losing your money.

They may not have listened to their upline!

Placing advertisements in the newspapers is just not smart to say the least. No one ever reads classifieds advertisements for business opportunities. The advertisements are very expensive and your ad can get lost between the hundreds of other ads. At one time Bill placed an advertisement for $275 and it got him absolutely no response: zero leads. In this case, his uplines told him no one reads those ads but Bill decided not to listen: Bill’s mistake.

If your upline tells you to start placing advertisement in the newspaper, then you have to study his personality and his intentions (He is just gambling with your money)

Lesson #2: Never use expensive advertisement in the newspapers.

Some companies obligate their distributors to keep buying products: more than the needed personal consumption to stay active in the company which leads to accumulating lots of unused inventory.

Lesson#3: Quit this company. Luckily, most companies do not follow this model anymore.

The biggest mistake is repeating the same marketing technique and expect different results.

MLM secrets of recruiting leaders ?

What are the secrets of recruiting mlm leaders who never quit?

I have already discussed in my prior post that leaders are readers, offer them a book to read and if they read it, these are the leaders that you want to work with and sponsor.

I will explain to you the wrong way of doing it also.

Are you doing this?

One type of mlm training teaches you to create the urgency. They tell you to buy your product now or they create urgency to join their company today.

These are the same people who lead with hypes and lies in most of their advertisements.

This is the same mlm training that claim to teach you how to add 20-30 people/week to your downline.

Ann joined such a mlm training program, she learned some stuff but most of their teaching is based on cold calling, hard selling and closing techniques. Those guys taught her how to make money on the behalf of people instead of helping people. They make their money by taking someone else’s money. Their techniques work for only hard selling, red personality guys. I call this mlm training, dream stealing.

If you get a call from somebody who asks you: “Would you like to learn how to put 20-30 people in your downline/week?” RUN AWAY! They want your money. They will give you all the big fat lies about their written guarantee that doesn’t exist!

Consequence: Even if this is true and you sponsored 20-30 people/week, your new people would soon quite. You took their hard earned money! They will hate you!

What is the value of those 20-30 people in the future? = nothing - nada - zepo

Are you looking for residual income or just to scam people and take their money?

What I do and I learned this from mentoring for free is completely different.

I ask people not to join me!

I teach them how to analyze companies, I ask them to go and see all the other companies then come back!

They will join only after being completely convinced then the attrition rate in my organization is very low. I do not have to deal with unstable mlmers who keep jumping from company to company looking for the next big thing. This is a business that requires commitement.

Another trick: I never sell a get rich quick scheme!

I never send them to a presentation full of hypes and lies!

I hope you are not recruiting this way! Otherwise, now you know why no one is sticking around.

MLM training for new distributors

It is very important in your mlm training for new distributors to teach them the basics of wants and needs.

What people want is different than what people need.

If you forget this step and you told your distributor to chase their friends and family, you are exposing your team members to rejection and failure before they even start.

For an example: Your new enthusiastic distributor asks his diabetic aunt who has pain all over her body: “I got great nutritional products that may help your diabetes and pains, would you want to try my products? ”

His aunt tells him, “I am under the care of my doctor. He takes good care of me.” The poor distributor just got a big fat No. The aunt may need the products but she does not want them. She is telling him, get off my back. He needs to back off immediately.

The new mlm distributor is going to lose his mind, how come his dear aunt rejected him like this.

Now, his aunt needs the supplements but she doesn’t want them.

Next day, our new mlm distributor goes full of energy and he hears his co-workers complaining of their low salary, not being appreciated, etc. Then he asks them: ‘ would you like to join my company and make money?’ And his co-workers answer: Go away; this is a pyramid scheme, this is a scam, someone in china lost his money in these deals.

Your poor mlm distributor rejected, humiliated goes and burry himself under the couch.

You have already lost a new fresh distributor. He quit. He can not sustain the pain of prospecting!

How to prevent mlm prospecting pains and rejection?

This is one of those biggies of Big Al mlm secrets:

You teach him Wants and Needs.

We need to wake up and exercise in the morning but do we want to? Nooo
We need to eat healthy but do we want to? Nooo
We need to go to the dentist but do we want to? Nooo

So, his aunt need the products but she doesn’t want them. May be if she is sick, people feel pity for her and they visit and now she has company! His aunt is normal.

His co-workers need the mlm opportunity but they do not want it and it is normal as well.

How can your mlm distributor prospect his friends and family without being rejected and without joining the no friends left club?

Prospecting through:

If this mlm distributor went to his aunt and asked her: Do you know anyone who has diabetes or aches and pains, my company has great products that may help those people?

Here his aunt will obviously forget about herself, and either she knows someone and she refers him to or she simply says: no, I don’t know anyone who has diabetes

Result: rejection free - and this may allow him to get referrals and he still gets the chance to eat turkey on thanks giving.

If he did go to his friends and asked them: Who do you know who has entrepreneurial spirit, passionate with dreams, who may has been in mlm but quit and may be looking to get back?

The answer would have been: No - but not to him, they just do not know anyone who need to make extra income. Or they do know someone then now your distributor has a hot fresh referral from a friend.

Do you see how that works?

The most important you do not want your fresh distributor to get pain!

Your distributor will stick with you to teach him all the details of marketing as long as he is not in pain.

You work hard to find a person with dream and hopes; he is very valuable to lose.

MLM secrets - How to spot a leader

One of the MLM secrets is Time management.

We all have 24h/day! That’s the most expensive asset you may ever have.

I am going to tell you some paradoxical thoughts.
I will not sponsor anyone anymore if I don’t see them as a leader.

I made the mistake long time ago of sponsoring one person. I wasted hours and hours on the phone with her and she ended up doing nothing!

Those guys who keep joining a company after a company, and they do not take the time to learn, grow, and analyze your company and they just want to join. They will waste your time and effort and then they will find some scam deals in the future, or some other shitty companies pre-launch and other B.S. companies that promise them ’spill-over’

Before you waste your valuable time, you should sponsor only those who deserve your time.

How to spot then a leader who deserves your time?

This is one of classic Big Al secrets: Ask them to read a book!

Leaders are readers: this is universal.

The way I generate leads for my business is by offering a free e-book to download, if this person doesn’t download this e-book and read it then he is not a leader and I do not want to waste my time with him.

You can use this trick to test your current team members to spot who are the real leaders that you want to spend your time with! And you will see that those readers even if they were not making any money they will grow and become very successful in the future.
